Formentera

This was our first time in Formentera, the smallest of Spain’s Balearic islands in the Mediterranean Sea. We took a short ferry trip for about an hour from Formentera's bigger and more crowded neighbouring sister Ibiza. Formentera is known for it's white sandy beaches and clear waters so blue it seems tropical an almost Un-euopean. There are many Italians living on the island, so if you're tired of the Spanish patatas bravas or calamaris you can indulge in Italian pizza's and pasta's made by true Italian cooks.

The small town Sant Francesc is filled with cozy little restaurants and lovely little shops filled with locally made products by local artists. Formentera is the perfect get away for a few days to escape the clubbing folks and crazy traffic jams from Ibiza and great to discover your favourite beach and do, well, mostly nothing other than sleeping, eating and dipping in the fresh sea water. Expect evenings to be peaceful too with great food enjoyed in the garden or on the beach, watching sunsets in good company, some guitar playing on the background while a small fire is keeping you warm when you're watching the stars at night. Perfect no?
